Kanji
Kana's ugly sibling. The most feared area of study for Japanese learners. Learn 2000+ kanji? But that's impossible! Actually, it isn't. The quicker you start and get yourself into a rhythm of study, the faster you will build up your kanji artillery, and before you know it you'll even be preferring kanji to kana!

Kanjiun
Ever wondered how to correctly write a kanji? Not sure of the stroke order of a kanji? You can also copy and paste a kanji character if you go to the Japanese page.
Wanikani☆
Need help remembering kanji? Using Spaced Repetition System, WK does what many other programs can't. Helping you remember the Kanji as efficiently as possible. Getting past the first few (free) levels on this site can be a grind, but once you clear those and start to really build onto the foundations, this site is addictive and reaching level 60 really is an achievement! Several JETs think the membership fee for a year is worth it! It also has an (unofficial) app for smartphones. Even if you don't use the program, the forums are free and very helpful!
If you reach level 10 on Wanikani you have covered about 95% of the Kanji on JLPT N5. Level 16 gets you to N4. Level 35 gets you to N3. Level 48 for N2, and Level 60 covers about 80% of N1's Kanji. And remember you do not need to know 95% of the Kanji to pass the test!
Heisig's Remembering the Kanji
A very popular kanji-learning book with vocal proponents. The aim of this book is to provide the student of Japanese with a simple method for correlating the writing and the meaning of Japanese characters in such a way as to make them both easy to remember.
StickyStudy
This application is designed to help you learn Kanji. Like Anki, this app is designed so that you are only learning the cards which you don't already know. This app is great if you are studying for the JLPT because it has separate kanji decks for the different levels. This app is available on the Apple App Store.
