Writing
A common way people practice their writing in a casual setting is through language exchange apps.
The resources mentioned below are not only for Japanese, but for most all other languages.
Keep in mind that language exchange works best when it’s paired with other learning methods. Since a language partner likely isn’t a teacher, they won’t be able to teach you the language, but rather will act as a supplement and feedback resource to your learning.

HelloTalk
A language and cultural exchange social network where you can practice casual conversation and get your writing checked by native speakers who want to learn the language(s) you know. You indicate the language(s) that you know and the language(s) that you want to learn, and you’re presented with many potential language exchange partners. In addition to direct message with other users, the platform offers language learning through several other tools, like podcasts, games, and more. HelloTalk is free to use, but some features can only be accessed with a subscription.
HiNative
HiNative is a Q&A platform that specializes in getting your questions answered by native speakers of your target language. HiNative is free to use for the most part, but some features can only be accessed with a subscription.
Italki
Another app where you can practice language skills, including writing, with native speakers.
**With any online platform, please be careful and do not share any personal identifying information. Only move outside the app if you are completely comfortable with your language exchange partner.**
